As a marketer, we tell our clients there are lots of reasons to write a blog – and lots of reasons NOT to write a blog. As Danilo Vargas points out on his blog, none of them involve fame, fortune or a readership of millions.
I started writing my blog on this site in May, 2009. I was a sporadic blogger at first – only 8 posts in 9 months. Promising myself to get more actively engaged in blogging, I wrote 15 over the course of the next 2 1/2 years. But I guess I was doing something right because in May 2012, Thorin McGee, Editor-in-Chief at Target Marketing asked me if I’d be a regular blogger at their site. I was honored!
Since then, with my feet to the deadline fire, I am proud to say I have blogged every other week. And it seems I have built up a fan base as I get plenty of comments on my blog, private emails of encouragement (or rants!), and have built up my Twitter followers to a whopping 175.
